Q&A WITH : 123MRK

This French guy is responsible for one of the most beautiful and daunting EPs of the year so far. His name is 123Mrk, he comes from Marseille, more precisely, and you must learn about him. Because he is a music prodigy. Yes. I think somebody once said he was the son of James Blake and Jamie XX. That would be impossible, but it sure describes very well the refreshing way he uses his unique skills to produce a never heard before blend of post-dubstep-2-step-future-everything. His brand new release on Squelch & Clap is called Refined Madness, and you can listen to it all below, while you read this little Q&A I had with this enigmatic child of the Sega.

THE PHANTOM'S EP2 NOW AVAILABLE ON VINYL

The Phantom (real name Bartosz Kruczynski, from Warsaw, Poland) recently released his EP2 through Belgium based imprint Silverback Recordings. This is the label's first vinyl release and you can order it now on Juno Records online shop. Here's a preview of the four tracks; CeremonyGothicVoyeur and Colossus. You've probably heard a couple of those gems in the past months via some trendy dj mixes; the release practically sounds like a greatest hits. No joke. Buy it.

SBTRKT REVEALS UNRELEASED 2009 TRACK

This is a song that was produced by SBTRKT 3 years ago, but couldn't be released because of the sample used in it. The track was originally played in a guest mix on Mary Anne Hobbs' radio show (check it out HERE). To quote the artist himself, it's a "different vibe". Listen to Atomic Peace below.

TYSON - DIE ON THE DANCEFLOOR (KIDNAP KID REMIX)

Here's Kidnap Kid remixing Tyson's Die On The Dancefloor (forthcoming on Back-Yard Recordings), and he is giving it out as a free download. Press release says: "It's strong stuff, swerving away from his usual latter day bass for a lurch towards a swagging-hip-hop type vibe."
